Anniversary The company celebrated its 15th anniversary on June 19th!!! We had a tropical Luau celebration and open house honoring 15 years of success with our clients, employees and friends.
SafePlace Donation It started as a way to get rid of left-over beauty products and turned into an annual charity event for the Austin office. Employees brought a variety of beauty products to the office and swapped them over the lunch hour. Lots of items were left and a little research was done to see what could be done with all these extra products. The Austin Shelter for Battered Women and Children, a division of SafePlace, was contacted and they agreed to accept everything.
This year, employees were encouraged to bring in other used items such as gently used clothing and toys and to purchase new donation items, such as diapers and bath essentials. We ended up with a total employee donation contribution of almost $500. D&A agreed to match whatever was collected in an equal amount of diapers and baby wipes for the shelter. It was a tremendous success and we look forward to our 3rd annual Charity Swap & Drop next year.
Central Texas Sustainability Indicators Project Doucet & Associates is a committed supporter of the Central Texas Sustainability Indicators Project, which focuses attention on the interconnected needs of the "four Es" -- the economy, the environment, social equity and community engagement. The project brings together business leaders, non-profits, advocacy groups, and local governments to find common ground -- and publish the best available data -- on trends that signal the long-term health of five counties in and around Austin.
The project publishes trends and scrupulously vetted data to share with local leaders and the public throughout the region. Carefully selected indicators are used as benchmarks. The idea is that communities can spend less time arguing and more time problem solving if everyone can agree on - and have ready access to - basic facts, context, and comparisons to other communities (both within and beyond our region). Instead of seeing a data point in isolation, the project gives leaders the opportunity to see whether an indicator is moving up or down - and how an economic indicator, for example, might also be affecting education, or the environment, or voting trends. The project also spreads what works, highlighting successful "best practices" in different communities, but it stays away from trying to dictate solutions, leaving that to local neighborhoods and towns.
D&A is a financial supporter of the Indicators Project, and the manager of D&A's Texas-based planning team, Jeff Barton, is a founding board member and former president of the board of the Indicators Project.

Annual Blood Drive D&A has been helping the Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas since 2001 by organizing annual blood drives for those employees that can and want to donate blood. Every year more D&A'ers sign up to give the gift of life through the donation of blood and this year was no exception! The Center's Blood Services division is the exclusive provider of blood products to 31 hospitals and specialty treatment facilities in ten Central Texas counties and needs to collect over 55,000 blood donations annually just to meet the needs of local patients.
