Austin American Statesman – 11/15/2005 A Sam's Club in San Marcos is one of 484
stores Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to open or expand across the United
States next year. An internal document, which Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
has confirmed, shows plans to add or expand hundreds of stores across
the country next year. Among the new stores will be a Sam's Club
slated for construction in San Marcos at the southeast corner of
Interstate 35 and Wonder World Drive. Sam's Club would be the anchor
of a major retail project that Lincoln Properties Inc. is developing
at the southeast corner of Interstate 35 and Wonder World Drive.
The site plan shows a space for a 135,000-square-foot store, with
seven smaller slots for stores and six for restaurants.
