Austin American Statesman – 10/5/2005 H.E. Butt Grocery Co. and its development
partner, Barshop & Oles Co., have bought 38 acres at the northwest
corner of Interstate 35 and FM 1626, where they plan to build a
147,000-square-foot grocery store with 60,000 square feet of additional
retail. Developer Rick Sheldon sold the land, which is part of a
325-acre mixed-use development he is planning called Kyle MarketPlace.
The new location runs along the planned $25 million extension of
FM 1626 and railroad overpass, which will initially have five lanes
and could be expanded to six.
